Overview:

Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Calgary office is recruiting for a Supervisor, Crossings & One Call to join the Damage Prevention & Public Awareness (DPPA) team.  This position reports to the Manager, DPPA in the Technical Services Unit, part of Pembina’s Corporate Services Division.

On behalf of Pembina’s Business Units, TSU manages a comprehensive integrity management program, which includes Facility Integrity, Damage Prevention and Public Awareness, Pipeline Integrity, Geotechnical, Corrosion Control, Asset Management and Product Quality and Measurement.
 

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Supervise the One Call and Crossings teams, including day-to-day guidance and support of team members and ensuring performance targets are met;
  • Ensure adherence to regulation, Pembina standards and industry best practices;
  • Foster the vision of ensuring consistent compliance and conformance, standardization of process, and training of competencies across organization;
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, in alignment with Pembina Values;
  • Identify potential gaps, develops and implements process improvements;
  • Provide technical input and mentorship in assessing and responding to notifications, processing of ground disturbance tickets, assisting with crossings inquiries and surface load calculations, and collaborating to ensure adherence to Pembina standards;
  • Ensure tracking, review, and documentation of Aerial Patrols, One Call Tickets, and Crossings, per Pembina protocol;
  • Assist in addressing any incident, non-compliance, non-conformance items related to damage prevention, including Unauthorized Activities across several jurisdictions;
  • Prepare reports and delivers presentations, as required, to promote DPPA;
  • Ensure audit readiness and participates in DPPA audits;
  • Provide support to Manager, DPPA in managing team resources;
  • Represent Pembina as member of internal and industry working groups, as applicable; and
  • Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.

Qualifications:

  • Post-Secondary education (Engineering / Engineering Technologies preferrable); an appropriate combination of education and experience in the field of Damage Prevention may be considered;
  • Minimum of 10 years pipelines experience with 5 years of recent experience in Crossings and/or Damage Prevention roles;
  • Industry training such as Ground Disturbance, PCST, Line Locating & Marking, Safe Excavation, etc. will be considered an asset;
  • Working knowledge of One Call process and ticket management best practices (experience with Irth UtiliSphere or similar ticket management tools will be considered an asset);
  • Practical knowledge of pipeline operations, construction activities, crossings process, and pipeline regulation;
  • Solid knowledge of Management Systems, Standards, and ability to apply to daily work functions;
  • Functional understanding of survey and GIS mapping information and interpretation of technical drawings;
  • High-level understanding of land / property rights, technical standards, and party-to-party agreements; and
  • Ability to problem solve and apply knowledge to support project file decisions.
