Overview:
Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Calgary office is actively recruiting for a Corporate Planning Analyst to join the team. This position report to the Supervisor, Corporate Planning and Director, Corporate Development & Planning, within the Financial Services Service Unit, part of Pembina’s Financial Services Division. The Financial Services Unit supports the company's major decisions through an in-depth understanding of financial health in the short and long-term, credit and market risk, weighted average cost of capital, and capital markets opportunities to pursue growth (considering financing strategy, M&A opportunities, etc.). The team is responsible for understanding the current state as well as the future state across a variety of scenarios, and their potential impact to external stakeholders (such as shareholders and rating agencies).
The Corporate Planning team is responsible for driving the company’s short and long-term forecasts, playing an integral role across the business in supporting budgeting, strategy, finance, and operations through the evaluation and analysis of key metrics, market analysis, and business trends. The Corporate Planning team is uniquely positioned within the organization through its broad exposure, making it an ideal opportunity to make a positive impact across the organization.
The Corporate Planning Analyst will play an integral role in supporting the Corporate Planning group in facilitating, reviewing, and analyzing short-term forecasting & budget cycles, and preparing essential outputs for Senior Management. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual, bringing intellectual curiosity, initiative and a desire to build their career at Pembina.
Responsibilities may include but not limited to:
- Support Senior Management and the business in evaluating short-term forecasts, budgets and other value-add deliverables;
- Develop and maintain complex short / medium-term financial models to:
- Support current lines of business, financial valuation of business opportunities, and to support Senior Management decision making;
- Conduct detailed corporate level financial analysis related to Pembina’s funding plan, rating agency financial metrics, pro-forma analysis, sensitivity analysis, M&A integration and other corporate initiatives;
- Prepare Board updates related to Capital Markets;
- Support the development and maintenance, in collaboration with Business Units and Senior Management, Pembina’s 2,5, and 10-year plans, strategy sessions, and budgets;
- Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting activities;
- Support the maintenance of ERP systems utilized at Pembina;
- Support Corporate Planning and Capital Markets teams on broader corporate initiatives;
- Demonstrate learning agility by actively seeking feedback, adapting to new information quickly, and applying learnings to improve performance and delivering consistent results in a dynamic environment;

Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in one of the following: Economics, Commerce focused on accounting or finance, or another quantitative discipline. Possess or working toward advanced education (CBV, CFA, CPA, MBA);
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in an FP&A or similar role, or 4+ years of other relevant experience (with a quantitative focus / research and analysis);
- General knowledge of the Oil and Gas Sector and familiarity with the midstream industry;
- Outstanding financial modelling and economic evaluation skills;
- Use of standard software programs: proficiency with MS Office (PowerPoint and Word), with advanced Excel skills;
- Database (SAP) and financial data site (Bloomberg) considered an asset;
- Self-starter, strong work ethic, and an ability to think independently and work collaboratively:
