Overview:
Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Calgary’s office is actively hiring for a Specialist, Corporate Development to join the team. This position reports to the Director, Corporate Development in the Financial Services division.
The Specialist will be an integral part of the team responsible for driving corporate strategy and growth. The Corporate Development team is primarily involved with the identification, assessment, and execution of strategic transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures. This team also works closely with business units to support the development and evaluation of organic growth initiatives, providing the role with broad organizational exposure and the opportunity to influence key strategic decisions and outcomes.
Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

- Play a key role in executing strategic projects by leading critical, high‑priority workstreams, including strategic transactions, business development initiatives, and capital allocation decisions;
- Identify, assess, and evaluate potential mergers and acquisitions (M&A) opportunities, partnerships, and joint ventures aligned with the company’s growth strategy;
- Conduct and oversee comprehensive due diligence, detailed financial modeling, and valuation analysis for potential transactions;
- Prepare and present strategic recommendations and well-developed materials for senior management to support tactical and strategic decision-making;
- Be a core contributor in facilitating multi-disciplined due diligence processes and support the negotiation and structuring of transactions;
- Monitor industry trends, competitive dynamics, and market conditions to identify opportunities and risks;
- Coach and mentor junior analysts, providing guidance and fostering their development in financial analysis and corporate development best practices;
- Drive continuous improvement of team standards, tools, and best practices across financial modeling, valuation, and transaction processes;
- Collaborate with business leaders and cross‑functional teams to evaluate initiatives in alignment with corporate standards and strategic objectives; and
- Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related quantitative discipline; an MBA or professional designation (CFA, CBV, or CPA) is strongly preferred;
- Minimum of 8+ years of progressive experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, transaction advisory, or a related corporate finance role;
- Proven experience in leading complex workstreams for mergers and acquisition (M&A) transactions, from identification and evaluation through to execution;
- Advanced expertise in financial modeling, valuation, and analysis, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly synthesize and present complex information to senior leadership;
- Strong business acumen and decision-making skills, with a demonstrated ability to think independently and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment;
- Experience in coaching and developing talent, with a passion for helping others grow;
- Demonstrates an entrepreneurial mindset and learning agility, with the ability to drive results and adapt effectively within a dynamic, evolving organization; and
- A strong understanding of the energy industry is considered a significant asset.
