Overview:

Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Calgary office is recruiting for an Advisor, Compliance & Technical Training, to join the team. This position reports to the Supervisor, People Program Execution in the Human Resources Service Unit, part of Pembina’s Corporate Services Division.

 

The Human Services Unit (HSU) acts to create a differentiated experience for our employees so that we can deliver extraordinary energy solutions so the world can thrive. Functional areas within HSU include Human Resources Strategic Partnering and Talent Acquisition, Leadership, Talent and Learning, and Human Resources Operations and Total Rewards. 
This role will play an integral part in the implementation of the Compliance & Technical Training Programs at Pembina. This includes the design, development and coordination of technical training and competency management programs to ensure we meet our compliance and regulatory requirements. 

 

This role will work collaboratively with the Sr Advisor, Compliance & Technical Training, program owners and subject matter experts (SMEs) such as: Operations, Safety, Security, Asset Integrity, Environment and Regulatory to develop and implement training initiatives that support organizational and departmental goals and objectives. This role will lead to an understanding of effective adult learning, competency and training approaches and methods for leveraging on-the-job learning in a technical and/or regulated environment.

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Support the development and maintenance of standards, processes and frameworks as it pertains to Technical Training;
  • Under the direction of the Supervisor and/or Sr Advisor, manage training and development projects (from scoping and analysis to implementation);
  • Support stakeholder analysis and audience creation for training programs;
  • Create, design and maintain learner solutions based on technical and regulatory needs;
  • Receive, analyze and triage new client requests;  
  • Support Operations and OEMS programs in reporting on compliance and internal performance, including audit support;
  • Support learners and administrators in SuccessFactors Learning, working closely with the Learning Systems Analyst;
  • Demonstrate learning agility by actively seeking feedback, adapting to new information quickly, and applying learnings to improve performance and deliver results in a dynamic environment; and
  • Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace. 

Qualifications:

  • Experience in instructional design and effective adult learning and training methodologies and their direct application in a technical and/or regulated environment is considered an asset;
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), listening, questioning and facilitation skills;
  • Solid interpersonal skills to build productive, cross-functional, collaborative relationships with leaders and SME’s throughout the business;
  • Knowledge of conducting learning needs analyses, analyzing skill gaps and identification of appropriate learning solutions to close skill gaps;
  • Familiarity with regulatory bodies such as CER, OH&S, OSHA, ABSA, BC OGC, NEB, PHMSA, CEPA, AER, FERC, etc., is considered an asset;
  • Accustomed to dealing with a high level of change and thriving in a fast-paced, continuously evolving environment;
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new tools, technologies, or processes and apply them effectively in a fast-paced environment;
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Suite, web-based tools, and a demonstrated aptitude for learning new software programs. Experience with Adobe Captivate, ServiceNow and SuccessFactors Learning or similar applications is an asset.

 

The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. Final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
