Overview:

Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Calgary office is actively hiring for a Commercial Application Project intern to join the team.  This position reports to Manager, Commercial Applications in the Information Service Unit, part of Pembina’s Legal, People, & Corporate Affairs Division.   

 

The Information Services Unit (ISU) is Pembina’s enterprise technology and digital delivery organization. Its role is to enable, operate, and evolve the digital systems, data, and technology services that support Pembina’s business operations, while acting as a strategic execution and business‑partnering function rather than a standalone IT utility.  

 

The Commercial Application Project Intern will be supporting an upgrade project. The primary responsibilities will be to ensure that existing and changed business requirements are clearly understood, documented, and traceable, with special attention to what is changing vs. what must not break.  

 

 

Please note that this is an 8-month term and the successful candidate must live within 100 km of Calgary 

 

 

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

 

  • Build and validate business requirements by identifying upgrade impacts, documenting functional needs and acceptance criteria, and ensuring traceability between requirements, testing, and sign off;
  • Enable effective testing by supporting test scenario and script development, clarifying expected outcomes during SIT/regression testing, and helping assess and prioritize defects from a business perspective;
  • Facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by preparing the business for UAT, supporting end users during test execution, and acting as the primary liaison between testers and the project team;
  • Support business sign off and readiness by consolidating UAT results, communicating residual risks and workarounds, and confirming the upgraded system meets agreed business requirements for go live;
  • Support Pembina’s safety culture of “Zero by Choice” by caring for yourself and others and following Pembina’s Life Saving Rules at all times;
  • Demonstrate Pembina’s values by working in a manner that is Safe, Trustworthy, Respectful, Collaborative, and Entrepreneurial, recognizing that how results are achieved matters; and

Qualifications:

  • Completed or currently pursuing a degree in Business with a concentration in Management of Information Systems (MIS) or Operations Management, or a degree in Computer Science and returning to school following the end of the work term;
  • Field of study aligned with, or providing relevant transferable skills for, the role applied for;
  • Ability to commit to the full duration of the term and required schedule; and
  • Demonstrated reliability, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn in a structured environment, aligned with Pembina’s values and safety expectations.  

           

 

The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. The final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
