Overview:
Pembina Pipeline is looking for a Business Planning Analyst to join the Pipelines Division Business Planning & Analysis team supporting the Conventional Pipelines Business Unit (CBU) and Oilsands & Heavy Oil Pipelines Business Unit (OBU). Pembina's Conventional and Oilsands & Heavy Oil Pipeline assets comprise of well-maintained and strategically located pipeline networks and related infrastructure that serves various markets and basins across North America.
The Business Planning & Analysis team is responsible for supporting the short and long-term profitability of CBU & OBU’s assets. The team works closely with Commercial Services, Logistics, Business Development, Revenue, and Financial Accounting teams, along with key operational stakeholders throughout Pembina to ensure CBU & OBU’s assets are utilized in an efficient and strategic manner with the goal of maximizing Return on Invested Capital (ROIC).
This is a full-time position and reports to the Supervisor, Business Planning. The role will leverage financial knowledge, business acumen, and advanced business modelling skills to support and contribute to development of CBU & OBU’s performance management, reporting, and commercial strategy.
Responsibilities may include but not limited to:
- Support more experienced team members in the development and reporting of monthly revenue forecasts and annual budget;
- Contribute to the development of financial models to support business decisions.
- Help gather and analyze data to support analysis of the economic and operative performances for CBU & OBU assets;
- Assist the monthly forecast reporting activities;
- Assist in quarterly and annual financial reporting activities;
- Ad hoc support such as the preparation of quantitative analysis and presentation materials for internal and external stakeholders to support value-add initiatives;
- Improving efficiency through automating processes and improving data management and output;
- Visibly demonstrate commitment and personal accountability to Pembina’s safety culture;

Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in one of the following: Economics, Commerce focused on accounting or finance, or another quantitative discipline.
- Possess or working toward advanced education (CBV, CFA, CPA, MBA) is considered an asset
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in an FP&A or similar role, or 4+ years of other relevant experience (with a quantitative focus / research and analysis);
- Advanced Excel skills and proven ability to develop planning models with supporting analysis;
- Self-starter, strong work ethic, and ability to think independently and work collaboratively.
