Overview:

Pembina Calgary office is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Revenue Accountant to join our dynamic Pipelines Division Operations Financial Services team. This position reports to the Supervisor, Revenue Accounting and will focus on accounting for Transmission Pipeline Business Unit (TBU). 

 

Pembina's transmission pipeline assets have developed through the strategic acquisition of key natural gas, ethane, and condensate transportation infrastructure assets, positioned in some of the most prolific gas producing regions in western Canada and the United States. Pembina's transmission pipelines provide customers with access to premium markets primarily on a fee-for-service basis under long-term contracts through long-haul pipelines.

 

As a Revenue Accountant with the focus on our transmission pipeline assets, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy of transportation rates, revenues, and services reflected in monthly shipper invoices. You will contribute to the success of the team by delivering high-quality financial reporting and analysis.

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Accounting: Prepare accurate and timely monthly revenue accruals and invoices in alignment with contractual terms, and complete other monthly and quarterly accounting tasks;
  • Reporting: Complete month-end and quarterly financial and regulatory reporting tasks to ensure seamless financial operations;
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with key members of the Business Unit, including Contracts, Logistics, Business Development, and Commercial Services, to drive alignment and efficiency;
  • Analysis and Compliance: Assist with variance analysis and perform contract assessments in accordance with IFRS 15 standards;
  • Customer Engagement: Communicate and collaborate with customers to address inquiries and resolve collection matters effectively;
  • Internal Controls: Uphold and maintain internal control processes and documentation to ensure compliance and accuracy;
  • Special Projects: Take on special projects as needed, contributing to the continuous improvement and growth of the organization;
  • Learning Agility: Demonstrate learning agility by actively seeking feedback, adapting to new information quickly, and applying learnings to improve performance and delivering results in a dynamic environment;

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Post-professional accounting designation experience in a similar role;
  • Technical Expertise: Understanding of IFRS 15 requirements is an advantage;
  • Personal Attributes: Energetic, resilient, and possess a positive, can-do attitude;
  • Organizational Skills: Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of information and completion of tasks;
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and deadline-driven environment;
  • Team Player: Motivated self-starter who excels both independently and collaboratively within a team setting;
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build positive and effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Learning Agility: Demonstrates ability to quickly learn new tools, technologies, or processes and apply them effectively in a fast-paced environment;
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required;
  • Preferred Skills: Familiarity with SAP, Power BI, and software implementation is considered an asset; and
  • Industry-Specific Knowledge: Experience in the Oil and Gas industry and with integrated operational systems related to gas and energy accounting are an advantage.
